Mucus And Egg White Mucus

The Undefeated

Original title: The Expendables (USA, 2010) / Address: Sylvester Stallone / Cast: Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham , Jet Li, Mickey Rourke, Eric Roberts, Dolph Lundgren / Duration: 103 minutes
As
hook, especially for those who have more than 30 years, the proposal was an undeniable emotional value. Beyond what you think about the qualities of Stallone as an actor and director, the announced return of Sly to action that had given so many returns in the 80 generated some tickle us. No doubt, good reception (both critically and in public) that their new releases of Rocky and Rambo obtained, gave the impetus to address this proposal. But Sylvester failed to capitalize the opportunity, and threw the ball away.

The Expendables shows the actions of a group of American mercenaries (all ex-military) missions dedicated to impossible for any mortal, except for them. One day, they are assigned a mission in a typical Central American republic. There they meet a woman whose strength of will and courage are the leader of the group ( Stallone) to dig deep against those in power at the site (including a very lousy American played by Eric Roberts ).
The movie is, as expected, a compendium of platitudes. But Stallone not print the ironic tone needed to run. Just put together a film with a very basic script, and a pair of forgettable action scenes. Thus, the film is halfway between the homage, the action and the "buddy movie." I think the worst sin of the movie is not funny. Except for a couple of winks (the cameos Schwarzenegger and Bruce Willis , the relationship between Stallone and Jason Statham, a joke about Jet Li) , the film does not offer much humor. And the action scenes, as I said, do not add much.

With character development very superficial, everything is in the pose of super macho. Although no one could expect much development of this list (unless someone waiting for something to Dolph Lundgren). The only real relief actor, Mickey Rourke , also falls prey to superficiality, but at least Stallone gave the only monologue of the film.
Finally, a missed opportunity. For second round action heroes of the 80, I recommend looking JCVD, the very intelligent proposal that Van Damme surprised last year. The expendables recommend it only for a rainy Sunday, and no football.
